neon taquitos

Saturday Taka and I headed over to D & K's, we dragged Mike along.  During the course of the evening we got talking about cooking food.  Konrad is a really good cook.  Taka and I are pretty skilled, not to mention determined.  Mike is learning to cook.  Mike had a really cool idea.  He wanted to get together and have a cooking night.  We would get together and each person would bring the ingredients for whatever food they want prepare.  The big thing is that we would be preparing food that we haven't prepared before.  Mike wants to make crab cakes.  I think that I would like to try my hands at gyoza.  I have also volunteered to be on dessert detail.  First up would probably be a fresh summer fruit tart.  Me being the insane person that I tend to be : )
I think that we have to have a name.  My thought for our title is the Culinary Catastrophe Avoidance Initiative.

It officially started for me at 12:00pm today.  I had my Pesticides midterm today at 11:45am.  I walked out of it at 12:00.  50 multiple choice questions.  I think I did okay.

Taka had his honors economics midterm yesterday.  He got his score already 94 out of 100.  Way to go Taka!  Of course today he had his 5xxx level statistics midterm.  That one hurt him, but he thinks that he survived it.

Spring Break!!!

Another cold...

You have got to be kidding me.  First a sinus infection weeks 2 and 3 of this semester.  Now this week (week 8), I seem to have another cold brewing.  I don't think it is another sinus infection, but give me a break.  I have design projects to work on and a midterm tomorrow.

At least next week is spring break...

I felt gypped today over at the design studio.  I WANT MY HOUR BACK!  I got back the design that I posted the photo of last week.  There is way too much red ink on it.  (Our teacher puts comments, mostly critical ones, in red ink.)  I got a 75% on it.  I am slightly disappointed.  I knew that I wasn't going to get an A on it, but I would have been very happy with 80%.

This is one of Taka's best batches of Jambalaya. Oh, was this good. He has really perfected this one over the last year. It has even been a treat to eat the leftovers. Yum, yum, yum!

This is what has been keeping me on the St Paul Campus on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. This is my most recent landscape design project. This is what kept me there until after 2am this past Tuesday.

Sigh...

This still isn't completed. The instructor will probably point out a million things wrong with it then I will have to redo them before I turn in my completed design.

Another tasty delight from Keefer Court Bakery.

Today Taka brought me some more Keefer Court goodness. The Curry Beef Bun is spicy but oh so good.

Will the torture never end.  It took until after 11pm to get the first draft of my design done.  The final draft went pretty quickly after that.  Now I am trying to print out my notes and plant list, but every printer I try doesn't work!

Ugh!!!

I want to go home!

Taka and I have eaten at Village Wok a fair amount lately. One of my favorite dishes is the Roast Pork Fried Rice. I do not know how to make good fried rice. That is something that I need to learn. I do make a pretty good Thai Fried Rice, which is quite a bit different from the Chinese version, it has fish sauce in it.
